A cryptoart project with a concept never seen before in the art industry. Async art takes the concept of ERC-721 tokens or NFTs to need deep levels to make collective and programmable works of art that can change and evolve over time. At first, the concept may seem a little bizarre since we are used to seeing static and unchanging works of art, but the cryptoart movement continues to surprise us and change our preconceptions of art. If you want to learn more, take a few minutes to read this article and learn about Async Art.
Think about music, videos, or a photoshop image; they are all made up of layers that make the final composition or masterpiece. By applying cryptoart technology, it is possible to tokenize the individual layers that make the master and sell them individually, so, for example, a work of art made up of 7-layers may be owned by 7 different people. To take things even further, each layer may be programmable according to the parameters set up by the artist. The state of the layers may be changed by its owner or it may change automatically. For example, the owner may decide to change the layer’s color or it may change automatically according to the weather. Changing a layer affects the overall master, so everyone owning a layer can influence the final masterpiece.
How to get started with Async Art?
To start using Async Art you need to set up your Metamask or Fortmatic crypto wallet so you can connect it to the Async Art platform. Once you have set up your wallet, you will need to create a basic profile by providing a user name and email address.
After creating your profile, you will be sent to Async Canvas which shows your dashboard and allows you to create new works of art without having to program or code anything. You are welcome to experiment on the Async Canvas and work on your masterpiece; however, to publish your work, you will need to be accepted as an artist or musician. Once you have built up your trajectory as an artist, the platform also allows you to receive collaboration requests from other artists as well.
To create the new piece you will need to choose between standard templates or Blueprints. The templates allow you to create programmable art using the master/layer system. There are a few templates to help you get started. You can choose the day/night template which allows you to upload 2-4 images and automatically switch between the images during the day or night, and the 24 hours template switches to a new image every hour. The Blueprint templates allow you to create a layering piece with visual or audio elements; however, the collectors will mint unit editions generated from your Blueprint and not individual layers.
